Course Information

This fun filled busy four days offers a combined course of theatre skills; Drama/Audition Technique - Singing & Microphone Technique - Street Dance - Basic Circus Skills.
On Tuesday students are introduced to the sessions listed above. From Wednesday students can choose to follow their groups set session or the additional optional classes in Singing/Jazz. These classes are included in the fee.
The day commences at 10.15am and ends at 4.00pm. EXTRA classes are held after school from 4.15 till 5pm. Students MUST sign up for classes each day if they wish to stay for extra free sessions.
Parents may visit their child's classes on the Friday.
General Information
School Opening hours:
THEATRE SKILLS WEEK - School opens at 9.45. Classes commence at 10.15 and end at 4pm. If students are being collected by Parents/Guardians they MUST be collected each day by 5pm.
Age Groups:
Students work in separate groups according to age, but generally our age groupings are 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-16 and 16+
Accommodation:
If you are interested in information about finding accommodation during your stay in London please look at the boarding pack listing local hotels and accredited host families. You can find this on in the menu on the left under accommodation/boarding. The school cannot make arrangements for you. All contact should be direct with the host family/hotel. We are happy to assist you if you have any problems.
Cafeteria:
The cafeteria is run independently and serves sandwiches, light meals and snacks. Students may bring packed lunches. Only students who are aged 16 and over with a permission note from Parent/Guardian may leave the building at lunch time. Permission notes to be given to matron during registration.
What to Wear:
During your time here we recommend that comfortable clothes and shoes are worn - tracksuit, jazz shoes, trainers etc. Students may purchase SYTS t-shirts during their week if they wish. Uniform is NOT compulsory.
Uniform:
Students who have ordered SYTS t-shirts uniform can collect during the first day of course. Uniform is NOT compulsory.
Matron:
Our matron is on duty at all times. Please ensure that she is aware of any problem or medication that your child may need. Please do not bring valuables to school as we cannot take responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
DVD/Video Club:
All students may stay on after sessions to watch DVD/videos till 5.00pm if they wish. Please make sure you make prior arrangements for the ‘video/dvd club’, with Matron if you wish to stay on after your session.
Extra Classes: Theatre Skills Course Only
During the week there will be free extra classes held after school from 4.15 till 5pm. Students can sign up daily for these classes. These classes are held on Wednesday, Thursday of the course.
