Key Stage 2 & 3
ICT is taught through specific topic areas of the Key Stage 2 and 3 curriculum. Students use a broad range of software applications such as; MS Office, Paint programmes and data logging and control. All students are encouraged to use new technology wherever they can to solve specific problems.
Topics include amongst others
- Year 6 create their own interactive adventure story using Power Point
- Year 7 devise surveys on various topics and use their investigative skills whilst searching a database
- Year 8 manage a simulated profit making greeting card production company with business plans
- Year 9 run their own small business and programme robot models which they choreograph to music.
A new topic 'Global Communication' involves contacting schools from Serbia, India and Turkey. The aim is to create a global Teenage Newsletter.
The school has recently acquired new computers and laptops.
