New students will be assessed, graded and given a  trial period to determine students ability. Students will then be re-graded where necessary.

Classes are based on developing students:
  • rhythm appreciation
  • strength
  • style
  • increasing vocabulary of steps, combinations in exercises and routines
  • with a variety of tempos and rhythmical variations.

Stage craftFurther development of rhythm in pattern and direction, introducing accents and pauses using;

  • clapping
  • beating
  • walking                                    

The syllabus covers;

  • basic to advanced tap manipulations and amalgamations
  • correct body/foot articulation (to include upper body arms and style)
  • terminology
  • combinations
  • strong emphasis on learning skills
  • style and  technique
  • advanced concepts and techniques                       
  • sounds,rhythms, tone quality and accent accuracy
  • rhythm patterns, steps, syncopation's
  • freestyle improvisation
  • variations of arms (parallel, opposition and co-ordination
